The Tallest K-Drama Actors in 2022 (Part 2)
In part 2 of our tallest Korean drama actors and TV celebrities, you will again find familiar names who have appeared in the most recent Korean dramas. Here are the next twelve male stars who are at least 187cm tall.
These include the white-hot Ahn Hyo-seop of Business Proposal (2022), the dependable Nam Joo Hyuk of Twenty Five, Twenty One (2022) and the confident Jang Ki Yong of Now, We Are Breaking Up (2021). Let's roll on!
Winner of the Best New Actor for the film The Great Battle at the KOFRA Film Awards in 2019, Nam Joo-hyuk has very much propelled himself to leading man role. He has gone on to deliver great performances in ensuing Korean dramas, such as Start-Up in 2020 and Twenty-Five Twenty-One in 2022.
In Start-Up, he performed his main character as a geekish but genius tech coder Nam Do-san convincingly, acting opposite Bae Suzy. In Twenty-Five Twenty-One, his portrayal of the riches-to-rag character Baek Yi-jin really connects with anyone who has found themselves in a desolate situation as well as his on-screen chemistry with Kim Tae-ri's character (Na Hee-do).
Born in Busan on 22nd February 1994, the 188cm tall Nam Joo-hyuk (남주혁) is a Pisces star and used to play on his school basketball team at Gyeongnam Middle School. He debuted in 2013 as a model under K-Plus and is the brand ambassador on several brands including Penshoppe and Dior Men.
The tallest bassist of CNBLUE, Lee Jung-shin is a talented musician, singer, rapper and actor who has acted and starred in several Korean drama series, including My Sassy Girl, My First Love and the popular web drama Summer Guys, which was aired on KT Seezn, AbemaTV and Viu.
Lee Jung-shin grew up in Ilsan and studied at Jung Bal High School. He was born on September 15, 1991 and is a Virgo star.
He is a model and an actor, one who is tall enough to star as a volleyball player in the volleyball-themed Korean dramas Thumping Spike and Thumping Spike 2 — well, that's Kang Hui!
Following that, Kang Hui went on to be the main cast in the web series Dream Change Laundromat in 2017, Ending Again in 2020 and Cherry Blossom After Winter in 2022.
Kim Woo-bin (김우빈) made his acting debut in 2011 with a role in White Christmas. His acting career took off in 2013 as he starred in the teen drama School 2013 and The Heirs. He won his first award, the Best New Actor award, for his performance in School 2013 in the 2nd APAN Star Awards in 2013.
After the successes in TV, Woo-bin ventured into films with Friend: The Great Legacy, The Con Artists and the best seller firm Master in 2016, starring opposite film superstar Lee Byung-hun. You can also see him in the upcoming 2022 movie Alien!
Woo-bin is a Cancer — his birthday falls on July 16, 1989. Prior to acting, he was a runway model who appeared in prêt-à-porter and Seoul Fashion Week collections.
Ju Ji-hoon may be well known as one of guardian trio in Along with the Gods, acting alongside Ha Jung-woo, Cha Tae-hyun and Kim Hyang-gi, where he won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 2nd The Seoul Awards in 2018.
His other award-winning works include Princess hours, Antique, Five Fingers, Mask, Asura: The City of Madness, The Spy Gone North as well as Hyena where he acted opposite Kim Hye-soo. His recent Korean drama also includes horror story Jirisan with fellow co-star Jun Ji-hyun.
With charming good looks and tall physique, Lee Min-ho is one of the most highly endorsed and marquee South Korean actors.
Also known as a CF (Commercial Film) King, Lee Min-ho has endorsed Kia Motors, Lotte Duty Free, Domino's Pizza and many other brands. Even the scene of Lee Min-ho relishing fried chicken on TV brought significant sales of half a million chickens in a month to fast food chain BBQ Chicken.
Apart from his lucrative endorsements, Lee Min-ho is certainly also an accomplished artiste with international recognition and numerous awards, starting with his breakthrough performance in the 2009 KBS hit Boys Over Flowers and following on to City Hunter, The Heirs, The King: Eternal Monarch and the 2016 film Bounty Hunters.
Min-ho's birthday is on June 22, 1987 (Cancer zodiac sign) and he majored in Film & Art at Konkuk University.
In my opinion, Lee Jae-wook is one of the most versatile and talented you actors in the Korean entertainment scene. Born on 10th May 1998 (Taurus), Jae-wook may not have a long filmography list compared to his peers, but his outstanding performance in these shows got him popular recognition as well as industry accolades.
Lee Jae-wook studied theatre studies at Chung-Ang University and was immediately recruited by Hyun Bin's agency upon his debut in the Korean drama Memories of the Alhambra. His versatile performance in Search: WWW in 2019 made some of the most memorable and relatable scenes of the drama, switching between an unacknowledged actor and the characters that he convincingly immersed in in his actor role in the Korean drama.
His performance at Extraordinary You and Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol also netted him numerous acting awards, including the Excellence Award for Actor in a Miniseries at the KBS Drama Awards in 2020.
Another young handsome actor who gained wide recognition in his male lead role in Search:WWW is Jang Ki-yong, who grew up in Ulsan when he was born on 7th August, 1992 (Leo).
Jang Ki-yong got his first lead role in the 2018 K-drama Come and Hug Me and continued to deliver leading performances in Born Again, My Roommate is a Gumiho, Now, We Are Breaking Up and the 2019 movie The Bad Guys: Reign of Chaos.
He has won several acting awards, including the Best New Actor awards at the APAN Star Awards in 2018 for My Mister and Baeksang Arts Awards in 2019 for his performance in Come and Hug Me.
I almost didn't recognize Kwon Hyun-bin as the Joseon court official and adoptive son of Princess Hwawan in the 2021 period K-drama The Red Sleeve. Kwon Hyun-bin gave a serious and solid performance throughout the series that you can easily forget he is also a singer, rapper and songwriter!
Hyun-bin was born on 4th March 1997 (Pisces) and made his acting debut in 2017. He starred in the 2021 film Twenty Hacker as well as several Web series, including the popular Summer Guys also starring Lee Jung-shin, Kang Mi-na and Lim Na-young.
Born in 15 January 1987 (Capricorn), Kwak Si-yang studied environmental and civil engineering at Dankook University. He was also part of the project group One O One, alongside fellow Starhaus artistes Ahn Hyo-seop, Song Won-seok and Kwon Do-kyun.
Kwak Si-yang also made a special appearance in the 2022 web series Rookie Cops (Disney+), where he played an undercover cop who was killed when his corrupt superiors revealed his identity to a criminal gang.
Veteran actor Ahn Gil-kang is probably the most senior actor to appear in this tallest K-drama guys list. Born in 24th August 1996, Ahn Gil-kang has an acting career that spans more than 25 years.
Ahn Gil-kang won the Golden Acting Award for Actor in a Weekend Drama at the MBC Drama Awards in 2017 for the K-drama Bad Thief, Good Thief. He has a wide range of acting repertoire, equally convincing in both stern, serious roles like Kim Che-geon in The Royal Gambler and slightly comedic roles like Hyun Ui-Ong in Tale of Gumiho and Jin Baek-won in Dali and Cocky Prince.
Yay, another tall Ahn — Ahn Hyo-seop, whose popularity is streaking red-hot in 2022. Born in 17th April 1995 (Aries), Ahn Hyo-seop is Korean-Canadian and he returned to South Korea when he was 17 years old to attend Kookmin University, eventually graduating with a degree from the Department of International Business.
He starred as the male lead for several Korean dramas since 2017, delivering impressive performances and high ratings. He won the Best New Actor Award at the SBS Drama Awards in 2018 for his performance in Still 17 and also at the Baeksang Arts Awards in 2020 for his performance in Dr. Romantic 2, starring alongside Lee Sung-kyung as the female lead.
Things only got hotter and better for Hyo-seop as he won the Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards in 2021 for Lovers of the Red Sky. For 2022, he starred in the Business Proposal opposite Kim Se-jeong and led the K-drama into soaring ratings, with rating of each episode surpassing that of the earlier episode in the first three installment, hitting an audience rating of as high as 8.1%.
That rounds up our current list of the tallest K-drama actors who are at least 187cm tall. Hope you like 'em!
